Why non-opioid is so important to us:
The national opioid crisis has highlighted a critical need for better options. Even though the health system has been implementing more safe-guards, exposing patients to opioids remains a risk. For many patients, undergoing total knee replacement surgery is the first time they are prescribed heavy doses of opioids. With our research into a new therapy, we believe that we can:
- Reduce or eliminate opioid usage and the associated addiction risk
- Minimize side effects and sedation
- Speeding up recovery and patient experience
